He would hold his rally tonight, and he would state some form of this:
I had fully intended to make a big announcement this evening. But, I believe it in the best interests of all to hold off. First, we have elections that are not yet completed. Votes are still being counted. We have at least one run off election. As our citizens focus on closing on this election cycle, the last thing they need is to begin focusing on the next one.
Second, my party needs time to process the election that just took place. There were some key wins. There were also some disappointments. A bit of reflection will be helpful to learning the lessons we need to advance our mission to Make America Great Again moving forward.
You will be hearing from me soon, but for now let's work to elect a GOP Senator in GA, and let's work to make the most of what appears to be a majority in the House. There is a place for the next election, but for now it is best that we process and learn the full lessons from this one.
