... I wanted Odom fired.
I thought he underperformed. Whether you agree or disagree with that, there is no doubt that Odom had Mizzou in a better position in year 3 than Drink in his year 3.
And over the past 3 years, most of our games that we've won have been due to Odom's players or commitments. Bazelak, Roundtree, Badie, Carlies, Mevis, Bolton. I would hate to see what our record would be without the players Odom left behind.
And it is incredibly alarming to see QB play get worse the longer they are with Drink.
Bazelak was fantastic his first season. He saved our 2020 season. Won SEC Freshman of the year without any good receivers. And then things just started going downhill the more he played under Drink and this system and these players.
Cook isn't improving in anyway shape or form. An argument can be made, he is getting worse as well.
Was firing Odom the right move? I don't know
What we be doing today in Odom's 7th season? We'll never know that hypothetical, as interesting as it would be.
What I do know is that Odom was a better head football coach than Eli Drinkwitz.
To me the question is more, should we have kept Odom or hired someone other than Eli?
