My sister-in-law grew up (high school) in those social milieus and the funny thing is that she rarely takes a stand (she and her husband are Republicans, members at Congressional and move in those circles) - she said she had NO DOUBT that Kavanaugh had done what he was accused of. So, in fact I do have personal contacts. I have played the Congressional a few times. We in fact, often get extra Turkey gravy from the "club", just another matter of ridiculous pampering DC elites receive.
