And also if you are born female in California your almost expected to play softball, so California has the quantity of players not necessarily the best quality, in the NE, females play Lacrosse,soccer and field hockey before softball, so the best athletes don’t necessarily play softball, that don’t mean the Northeast can’t produce a All American, (Mike Trout is from NJ)
