Reportedly Dilfer saw Macon at the Elite Eleven camp and afterwards described him as "a young Steve McNair".
If that assessment is correct, Macon may well have a legitmate shote at becoming an NFL career. More critically, he may think he has a shot at the NFL.
If that is the case and it is fairly clear that he won't start this year at Mizzou, his best career move may well be to transfer immediately to a school that throws the football and has a need for a starting QB. That would give him the opportunity to gain experience and accelerate his entry into the NFL.
The Mizzou QB situation is likely to become more crowded with the arrival of Sam Horn. That would seem to be another reason for "backup" Tiger QB's to consider transferring.
