The B1G extended offers to join in each case and one of the conditions was a "junior membership" for five seasons. Each of the schools agreed to that provision before they ever joined.
No one has looked at the actual number of dollars they received from the B1G versus what they got from their old conferences. The B1G has until the last year or so consistently made the biggest distribution of any conference.
If the schools sued the Big, they would likely loose on a summary judgment motion and also be liable for the B1G's attorney's fees and costs.
