pencil pusher in Stoneman-Douglas who held officers back and another responding agency finally said "fvck it" and disobeyed her to make entry.
If law enforcement learned nothing from the incident in Colorado the way to handle these situations is go on the attack.
But here you have officers with handguns going up against a rifle. Does that community allow officers who are not part of the tactical team to even have rifles?
Worked for one agency where they didn't want us to have shotguns and the only one available was in a trunk lid mount of a Sgts car.
Another commission let us HAVE a shotgun, as long as it wasn't visible, so we had to get special mounts to mount them in the car.
Now most agencies we build cars for have 2 or even 3 long gun mounts. One for the shotgun, one for an AR and even one for a non-lethal.
But governing boards sometimes will exert their influence over a department and we know they are clueless about needs/response times.
