because he'll take them out with about a 10% higher than market tender offer to shareholders (you) which will leave you with a hefty tax bill this year. I've got a large position I've been building for years and and it's a concern. However; it's more likely he stops at just over 20% and uses equity accounting to consolidate OXY's results proportionately into BRKA. He's done that with several other companies. Beieve he said this about his large purchase of Conoco years ago: No reason to buy the whole cow if he's getting all the milk he wants out of whatever he owns.
