I don't think NIL is the end all for some players

Taking Burden for example I'm sure he saw immediate PT and a path to being a 1st round pick in 3 years coming to Mizzou. That's worth a lot more than any NIL deal he would likely get.
Drink has recruited so well early that it could be hard to sell early PT to some high school players. I also think it's a safe bet we can't match OU for NIL. So if we may not be able to offer early PT and can't offer a boatload of NIL it can get challenging.
That said, I think the portal era will change football forever. Being in on elite recruits is a good thing because they might be available again to in you a year or two.
