For any given coach, his sum is a combination of his ability to recruit and his ability to coach.
Some guys get all kinds of talent and can't get them out of a wet paper sack. Think of them as 90/10.
Other guys can't recruit to save their lives, but they are brilliant tacticians. They're 10/90.
Both of these guys add up to 100 and then both ultimately fail. Johnny Jones. Doc Sadler. Two prime examples. They fail.
Good coaches are good because they fall somewhere between 60/40 and 40/60.
You are thinking of it in terms of coach ____ is a 5* recruiter and a 2* teacher therefore he's a 7* coach and is better at his job than a guy that is 3* and 3*.
It doesn't really work that way.
