The Fed can try to sell its balance sheet and retire money, but I don't see them doing that. It would be an admission (or another example) of their incredible failed policies since 2008. Their policies were horrible before that too, but they've really been manipulative since that crash.
There will be massive tax increases in the future to pay interest alone on the national debt, which will continue to transfer wealth out of the citizen's pocket and into the debt holders hands. It will cause further shifting of economic power away from the citizen and make them more subservient to government as their labor feeds the needs of the machine.
This debt, and the printing of money for the last 2 years, will be (and is) as restricting on individual liberty as anything we've seen in our lifetimes.
