The door was, per her attorney, propped open, undoubtedly against school policy.

The door may not have properly closed ASSUMING she truly removed the prop (rock) in her panic. Perhaps the door normally requires a good pull to close and LOCK. Had she never propped it open this likely would not be a discussion.
