in association with a city. These are just individual dudes where regardless of performance will be making X amount of money. Sure someone has to win, but the outcome financially is the same regardless of who it is.

It's not the same. Plus players on the team sports you mentioned get incentives for advancing in the playoffs and ultimately winning it all.

From what I understand this is just a salary that doesn't change. Talk about boring. Golf is already boring to most people. This will make it really dumb.
