Very murky...

She really struggled her freshman year, then last year as a sophomore was outstanding and one of OUs hero’s in the WCWS both at bat and in the field. Then this year really struggled, ended up getting less and less playing time. Asked for a “leave of absence” from the team a month ago and it was granted by the coach. Then last week the coach said she was no longer associated with the team, and yesterday she hit the portal and issued a farewell statement.

When she got the leave of absence a month ago her coach said this publicly:

“Right now all I can say is Lou is taking care of Lou. That’s about it, it’s more of a personal matter, and I’m going to kind of leave it at that. Lou is doing what’s best for Lou right now.”

Which is as clear as mud.

In her farewell statement yesterday, among other things, she said:

“So much has been said, and I would love to be able to fully share my story to set the record straight. Someday I will. But that time is not now. Now it is time to focus on getting back to being fully healthy, which I have not been.”

So it’s anyone’s guess. Bottom line is her performance declined and the coach lost confidence in her and stopped playing her. The reasons behind that aren’t clear.
