Talent identification was one of his bigger challenges.

He wasn't great at building a roster.

We all know he didn't cut corners, so that cost him plenty when it came to getting top recruits, most of whom expect to get dollars these days.

I don't think it's fair to say he didn't work hard. There's plenty of evidence that he had a good work ethic.
