I'd like to know why so many people report their covid

He knew that 7 of the 23 kids in class had previously had covid and he was also informed that 61 of 2200 employees in the Chicago area had gotten covid.
And how in the world does he know who is transmitting it every time. Of the 61 people in Chicago that got it, he somehow knows that in a pool of 2200 employees that none got it nor transmitted it from work.
"61 of our 2200 or so Chicago area employees had it.... none got it from work nor transmitted it at work."
