Likely tough to tell, as variant one came in with a fairly naive population, no vaccine, no real testing, and not a well understood testing protocol.

I am sure they could do some work in the lab to determine that.

I have not kept up with all of the stats on ages, etc. lately...and there is too much political manipulation of the data now.
