outside of his first class he hasn't been very successful doing that. I put Mark Smith in that first class group even though he took a round about way of ending up at Mizzou. Martin has missed on all of the high level talent since that first class.
Frankly there is no excuse for missing on all of those guys. Martin was paid to come here and close the deal. You're never going to get all of them, but he really needed one or two out of Ramey, Liddell, Love, Fletcher, et al.
Martin has had a toxic combination on whiffing on elite talent while overlooking underrated local guys and letting them go be successful elsewhere. Talent evaluation and player development have been poor and mediocre at best.
