And barring some absolutely miraculous turnaround the rest of this season, we will lose a once unimaginable amount of revenue on men’s basketball. I have spoken with a number of significant donors and suite-holders and they have no intent to re-up next year unless there is a coaching change. The suites are already basically empty this year. They will be locked and shuttered next year with the lights turned off. No donations. No food and beverage profits. I suspect a significant portion of regular season ticket holders will not renew. CM did a good job getting students to buy tickets this year, but those will all largely be gone.
If our AD doesn’t realize this, and certainly she does (or will) when she is given the explanations from all of our fans jumping ship, then she is either an idiot or committing malpractice at her position. I don’t believe she is an idiot. The latter remains to be determined.
Because of the above, I see no possibility that CM will be back.
