I think this will be worse than Vanatta's final season at MU

Yes that team went 3-22, but that was a different era. They beat Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Detroit in an age where there weren't 350+ D1 programs and easy wins to be had against hapless opponents on the schedule. Moreover, they took 4 games to overtime and lost them all. They weren't that far away from being a 7-18 team.

MU started that season 2-2 then the program's first 7' Booker Brown (grabbed 24 rebounds that season in the win over Detroit) and Gene Jones (18.7 ppg and 10.7 rebounds the next year and was an NBA draft pick) both got declared academically ineligible and the Tigers went into a tailspin. There were off the court reasons that season went off the rails. This year we are as you say just really bad.
