As a detached observer, I understand the disappointment but I’ve been impressed by his personality and intellect. These are the two things that matter most in recruiting and recruiting is probably the no 1 important factor in success at the game we love. He has it, what he doesn’t have that others have is an area with great HS football. On the other hand, he’s got no competition in Missouri and Kansas and Illinois, two neighbors, are pitiful programs (Bielima sp.? - he’s a better than average coach but he’ll never win a popularity contest. That said, by covering those Three states, And selling the SEC brand to high schoolers, he is not without recruiting upside. So, whine away during this down year, as is your right, but don’t despair about the future.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
