We aren't going to be allowed to win in Lawrence if we rolled in there with the 1990 UNLV roster, so that game isn't going to tell us anything about this team.

Illinois and maybe if we play FSU in Jacksonville will be good tests, but those types of games are on the schedule every year. Surely we can beat Wichita State at home.

Here were some of our noncon opponents in 1988-89:
Xavier, North Carolina, Syracuse, Temple, North Carolina (again), @Tulsa, Memphis, Ohio, Illinois, Arkansas, @Virginia Tech, @Maryland

That is a tough non-con. We finished non-con play that year 14-3 losing in overtime to #6 Syracuse, to #10 UNC, and to #6 Illinois.
