Very true. They failed to adjust because they were enjoying the profit and not investing. same with a lot of industries. happened to the automobile industry back in the 70's and 80's (very little investment in R and D). Toyota and VW invest a lot in R and D. Our Oil and gas industry kept us from really investing in alternative resources. Sometimes you need government involvement to get them to do it or we will all be behind.
