ontological change in the reproduction process is when the sperm with 23 chromosomes unites with the ovum, which also has 23 chromosomes, to form a new unicellular human being with 46 chromosomes.
From that point on all that human being needs to continue living and moving along his or her lifetime timeline is nutrition and a safe place to live.
"Viability" is an artificial construct.
A disabled person may not be "viable", able to live on his or her own, but that hardly means that people should be able to kill them.
A newborn cannot live on his or her own.
Many elderly people cannot live on their own.
The bottom line is that it is gravely evil to intentionally kill an innocent human being.
