Last year, there was reason for a glimmer of optimism.

Then Drink brought in a defensive coach that doesn't seem to fit, and one or most likely a couple of the following 3 things have happened.

1. Wilks has implemented a scheme that doesn't suit the players.
2. Depth and talent has slowly eroded for several years and exacerbated by the transfer of a few key players.
3. Wilks is unable to lead and inspire the remaining players to perform above their skill level.
