Man you hit on a few good ones. I grew up in SEMO, went to UMKC and live in STL. I started paying attention during the Larry Smith days. Didn't go to a game until about 5 years ago, can't recall talking to someone that had been to a Mizzou game for the first 40 years of my life. But I'm a serious football fan and a new Mizzou season ticket holder. I think Drink is going in the right direction but there will be speedbumps the next few years. Having said that, my experience so far:
- Game day atmosphere is poor (obnoxious blaring music, can't hear the band - it's the SEC!, crappy costly concessions and I WILL NOT miss a play waiting in line, overall stadium is drab and ugly, new south endzone complex is unappealing because I don't want to sit in the end zone, Tigertown is a joke, if you're with your family the tailgating scene is pretty bad - we can eat and drink together on the couch). I didn't go to the TN game because of the game atmosphere, weather, and pathetic defense. I'll stand in the rain when we compete like hell but not for this gang. Gonna take some time.
