of the same conversations, because people can't just accept that Covid is here to stay and move on. It doesn't matter what we do. Masks, social distancing, goofy mandates, vaccinations, booster shots, etc. Nothing is going to stop covid from doing what it's going to do. Everyone sitting at home for 2 weeks is simply delaying the inevitable. As long as there is still 1 case in the world, it will just ramp back up again.

"The government mandates work but the people are ruining it!" is incredibly the attitude of a lot of people.
