I pointed out that UNLV's FB and BB records trended downward over her 4-year tenure, but that doesn't tell the entire story. Her recent football hire has the top-rated class in the MWC, and her basketball hire was recently poached by Iowa State (despite sub-500 records in his 2 years at UNLV). And several coaches she hired for UNLV's non-revenue programs have won MWC 'coach of the year' honors. Plus...
She's a good fundraiser, and the consensus seems to be that she'll help with NIL in some capacity.
She increased attendance at UNLV, and oversaw major facilities upgrades.
She recently received a raise & extension at UNLV... so she has to be doing something right.
She attended UCLA and has a law degree, which means she's probably a smart & motivated person.
Relevant work experience:
• 1997–1998 California (compliance)
• 1999–2002 San Jose State (compliance director)
• 2002–2003 Santa Clara (associate AD)
• 2003–2006 Fresno State (associate AD)
• 2007–2008 San Francisco (AD)
• 2008–2012 Tennessee (Deputy AD)
• 2013–2014 Cincinnati (Senior Associate AD, Interim AD)
• 2014–2017 Virginia Tech (football operations)
• 2017–2021 UNLV (AD)
I'm still not convinced she has what it takes to run an SEC Athletic Department, but I'm starting to feel more confident in the hire.
