would be how many people are "legally" employed....since essentially a tax check is being sent in to the government on a regular basis.

Also, the number of people unemployed and collecting unemployment, since government is sending them checks.

The number of people working via cash, or truly unemployed are just estimates...which, of course, is where the politicians play with the numbers depending on which side they are representing that month.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
