... open up the possibility that a conference like the ACC snags Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Michigan?
Or the Big 10 snags OU, Texas, Florida State and Clemson.
If the SEC wants to survive as the premiere conference in college football, they have to have the best football schools.
That's the only way.
And the only way to do that is grab the best before another conference does and laps you in relevance.
The strong eat the weak --- don't become the weak.
I totally get Texas A&M's resistance and feel for their situation.
But what's happening is happening. And it's the only way to survive.
A&M simply needs to think about a different narrative because the landscape has changed. The old way of thinking was only relevant when there were 5 rather similarly competitive conferences.
At least they can be assured Texas will have no single authority power any longer. They are just 1 of 20 if this happens.
