intentionally leaked, but almost all of the credible sites I saw were pointing out that a lot of evidence was that it came from the lab and that they had no idea whether it was intentional or a leak.

From my point of view it seemed most likely that it was a leak. Patient 0 was very close to their lab and it would not make much sense to unleash a deadly virus in one's own country next to a lab that was working on 'gain of function' of bat corona viruses.

The Chinese government was embarrassed by it and worked hard to try and cover it up. They even had a general take over control of the lab shortly after the disaster happened.
