I've visited their brewery, had Pseudo, King Sue & Pompeii

They are a great brewery. Bell's, to me, is not consistently great, but they have a couple of truly great beers: Expedition Stout and Third Coast Old Ale. Both age beautifully for a year or two.
I am a fan of Founder's, also, although I don't like everything they do. But, Centennial is a great, malty IPA. It almost borders on barleywine territory. It doesn't even need to be cold. Dirty Bastard and its barrel aged variations are great. Breakfast stout and the barrel aged variations are truly great beers. If I could only have beer from one brewery in the Midwest, it probably would be Founders, currently.
Boulevard would get consideration if I liked their normal priced beers. I don't like any of their IPA's much. Love Child is a truly great Flanders Red Ale. Tank 7 is wonderful. They have nice barrel aged beers. Imperial Cask Cuvee is one of the best beers I've ever had. So, they are polarizing to me. How great are they, if their normal priced beers are just "above average?"
Then again, Goliath prices their beers well above average. And, tasting "It's just a Phaze" from Crane Brewing, side by side with Psuedo Sue, I liked Crane better. It is a wonderful beer. And Crane has a good farmhouse ale, and great sours.
If I had to pick one brewery in the Midwest, it would be Diametric in Lee's Summit MO. Why? I live there. They served some of the best beer I've had in the metro. They have a nice space. They have a wonderful food truck serving out of the ordinary BBQ based takes, like BBQ tacos and sandwiches with BBQ meat, although not the typical pulled pork, etc. Local places are springing up all over. It is a great thing.
