Been coaching up my girls basketball team getting them ready for another summer tourney. They are going into 8th grade.
We ran a drill last Thursday that basically imitated a busted fast break/transition play, where the lead person dribbling gets stopped, and has to dish a quick pass to the trail girl.
One girl kept catchin the ball with her body and didn't have her hands out in front of her or break down like she was supposed to.
One of my assistants went over to her and yelled at her because she had long painted nails and didn't want to break them. Basically we told her if she wanted to play basketball she needed to get rid of them. We kept doing the drill and she later came back and said her finger hurt. (this is the normal for this girl, always hurt, always tired, always sick, doesn't wanna put in the work) So we sat her down as normal. She left early.
Yesterday I get a message from the mom stating that she might have broken her finger making her catch passes and that me and the other coaches would be getting a doctor bill.
My goodness!
