But knowing one or the other are the only two choices of the moment, to argue they are equally bad makes no sense whatsoever. It is like knowing the flood waters are rising. You can sandbag and only lose your basement or do nothing and lose the entire house. It would be irresponsible to say "well, a loss is a loss so we should do nothing because losing the basement is the same as losing the house."
