The class imbalance is a direct result of mismanagement in recruiting - or lack thereof.
Martin had a NCAA team before he held his 1st practice at MU - so the excuse of some sort of massive rebuild is a fallacy.
He then proceeded to sign/bleed recruits long before COVID was an issue.
1) He can't correctly identify talent he signs
2) He can't sign enough talent that is SEC caliber
3) He can't motivate kids enough to want to stick around
4) He has no concept (or care) about class balance
I don't care what is going on in the past 12-15 months - signing 28 recruits in 5 cycles is *not* normal. It is 1 - or a combination - of the reasons listed above.
And it's all on him. If this was his 1st gig, then maybe he gets a pass. But it's not - he is a veteran, well-seasoned coach at this point.
And his roster management 4+ years in is alarming, to say the least.
