We signed the 5 freshman to replace the 5 seniors. We were going to build around them and Kobe Brown and whoever we filled the vacant scholarship with. The transfer portal has allowed us to accelerate that build. Now Brookshire isn’t forced into a starting role as a freshman. Gordon, a power 5 starter may come off the bench for us now. That’s a good thing. We don’t have to bottom out now. We can take maybe a small step back in 21-22 and then have a similar or better season in 22-23 than we had this year. This was always going to be a long task to rebuild this program was trash to respectability and then to a winner. It was not going to be four years and boom and we are annual tourney trips and a yearly conference title contender.
