In economics, “public goods” are ones that because of their nature an individual can not supply for him or herself or by individual firms. The items mentioned are classic public goods. The concept of public goods is a long established and accepted concept and consistent with capitalism. The initial post is the first time that I have ever heard or seen it equates to adopting “socialism”.
