Interesting article on West /China relations history

I found this interesting since it takes a longer term view of history. Of course, I cannot vouch for any of the representations made in the article.
One potential inconsistency I would note is that China went into a period of decline in the 1800s characterized by poor governance which facilitated the Western looting of China that occurred the mid 1800s through the early 1900s, which of course was followed a Japanese imperial invasion and even more aggressive looting.
