I had a brother recruited into Army Intelligence to serve overlooking Prague during that revolution and another drafted in '67 but b/c he was at the time b/t a scratch and plus 2 golfer, he wound up with a desk job in Germany playing golf for the US Army. Neither saw battle, but getting out of the war at the time was the thing for nearly everyone.
