which wasn't enacted until 1913. So, no, the nation is pretty damn far from its founding.
Also, with some exceptions not usually applicable to stock holdings by large estates, stock holdings and financial instruments were purchased with AFTER TAX dollars.
I don't worship wealth, but I do rightfully recognize that is a great and important thing and we owe our comfortable modern lives to the creation and preservation of it. If you destroy or curtail wealth, everyone loses.
