The GOP of today wants a much bigger government than the Dems of twenty years ago, true.

But if you want a smaller government and you want an actual chance of it happening the GOP is the better of two bad choices. Libertarian is the party that would actually lead to a smaller government but in the current system, they are not a realistic option. The best we can currently hope for is to slow the current growth and hope to reverse it at some time in the future.

Why is it so hard for you to discuss topics that pertain to the world we actually live in instead of the one you envision in your head?
