matter, the initial report will always cause way more rumble than the correction. Damage already done. They know this.
Remember the fake report from some Penn St. doctor that 30-35% of football players who get Covid will get myocarditis? Yeah, that was fake as hell but retweeted like 12 million times. The "opps..., that's not even close to true" correction was barely a blip on the radar.
