The same is true of any new pharmaceutical product. The NDA process reports a year or two of data. Nowhere near “long term”. If you take any pharmaceutical your “long term” security is limited to the amount of time it’s been on the market.
Lipitor and other statins are the most prescribed drugs in the US. I’ve been taking one for 20 years. There’s no proof to any reasonable scientific certainty that they’re safe for 30+ year use because they’ve only been on the market for 25 years.
Equally unknown are the long term effects of surviving a bad case of COVID, although there’s evidence of long term damage to multiple organ systems. There’s no reason to believe the vaccines present any ling term risk.
