exists, they are also right.

First, China recognized testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 does not mean a person develops COVID-19. The US counted every positive test as COVID-19, when upwards of 40% never develop disease (symptoms).

Second, China only counted as COVID-19 deaths, Those that are directly caused by it. If a person in the US died and had been tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, they were automatically counted as a COVID-19 death.
