guy's name. I have a brother-in-law named Jan. (Pronounced "Jan" consistent with its spelling.) Maybe not as "interchangeable" as "Kelly," but not that unusual. Old timers will remember the Chiefs' HOF kicker Jan Stenerud, who played in KC during the 60s and 70s.

Similar to your "Michelle" I knew a guy in HS whose first name was "Shelly." Both of which are very unusual names for an American male.
