It still does not detract from a vaccination being useful. We have no way of knowing who all was infected. There were an estimated 152 million Americans as of last week based on 6.5 times higher than known case numbers.

That still leaves a significant portion of the population not protected.

Those not protected are at risks from future variants that will only cause mild illness in everyone else. They will not have partial immunity and will be at risk of severe disease. Yet if they get vaccinated, that risk goes away.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
