reminding white people of their "whiteness", for most whites anyway, does nothing to foster any type of empathy in them towards people of color. That would include me. When you make everything about color all the time, in my opinion, it only further divides races in America and this kind of "messaging" falls on deaf ears.
This is so obviously reverse racism as well. If black parents had received a "blackness scale" score that principal would have been drawn and quartered in 15 minutes.
I also find it annoying that Black Lives Matter and the black "movement" use the term "people of color" whenever they need to but generally black people in this country favor non-assimilation and truly don't care about Latinos, Asians are other "people of color". It's all about them all the time.
