essentially backed away from the CDC guidelines on opening schools and gave an answer essentially covering the teachers union positions (all in the name of science, of course), which is that they aren't going back until any and every demand they may have can be met.

It was followed up by an interview with a teacher's union president saying the exact same thing.

So science may not in fact be settled as it relates to this case. A skeptic may say it has a political component.
