still be govt but it would be way, way, way smaller and less intrusive in daily life.
The problem is that the vast majority of the politically "participating" people in the US fall into two camps:
1. Modern liberals who actively want to expand the reach of the govt, and vote for politicians who attempt and do just hat.
2. Modern conservatives who want to limit the growth of the govt, and vote for politicians who allege to want that but never deliver.
Hence, the govt keeps getting bigger and more intrusive.
You're not a Congressmen. If you really want smaller govt, then you should laud people like pickle who set forth philosophical underpinnings that would bring it about. Politicians are followers, not leaders. It is the culture that needs to change to lead to smaller govt, and you are frankly not helping.
