but you're ignoring the fact that those teams played the toughest schedules in the nation, in the toughest division in the history of college football, and were competitive in many of the games they lost.
It's like saying Florida should drop in the rankings for losing to #1 Alabama last night. Computer models don't think that way. They factor in scoring margins and would *elevate* Florida for being competitive against a highly ranked team.
So fortunately, there are statistical models that look a little deeper than # of wins.
